SpriteClean | Version: 1.04-1 | any |
Crop sprites and clean blemishes from scanned images
SpriteClean was designed for one particular purpose: cleaning up sprite files which originated as scanned line art. It assumes that the background colour is white, because that is what it is in the files I wrote it for! Scanned images often have dark or light pixels scattered here and there, and the Clean option removes those pixels which are not part of a large lump of dark pixels. You can set various parameters which determine what is dark and what is large.
The program was then developed further to include Crop and Autocrop facilities. Crop allows you to remove rows and columns from the edge of the image. Autocrop automatically removes blank rows and columns from the edge of the sprite. In order to determine what is blank, Autocrop works out what the background colour is by looking at the four corner pixels of the sprite. If these are the same colour (which need not be white), it takes this as the backround colour. If they differ, it refuses to do anything!

Easy entry of text objects into Draw
A Draw text object can have only one style (font face, style, size, etc). If it is necessary to enter a text string containing style changes then one must enter each part of the string separately, and then drag the components into place. Such text strings may be required when adding eg chemical formulae or mathematical equations to a diagram. Text>Draw eases the entry of such text into Draw or similar applications.
