DiscImage | Version: 1.03-1 | any |
Create, convert and write images of floppy discs
DiscImage is for producing disc image files from floppy discs. Image files can be produced from any floppy disc recognised by the operating system, and a few more besides. The files can be produced in several different disc image formats. A disc image file may be loaded into DiscImage and either written back to floppy disc (with certain limitations) or converted to another image format.
Image files are popular for use with computer emulators. DiscImage will allow you to produce images of standard RISC OS discs for use with RISC OS emulators, and also images of "foreign" disc formats for use with emulators of other computers running under RISC OS. It is also possible to use plain image files of foreign disc formats within RISC OS much like a subdirectory: double-click on one and a filer window will open showing the contents of the disc. To see the contents of images of native FileCore discs you will need a tool such as ADFFS.
DiscImage has particular support for Amsdos discs (as used on the Amstrad CPC series) and Einstein disc formats.

File or disc backup application
SyncDiscs makes the contents of two discs or directories the same. Synchronisations can be run as singletasking or multitasking mode. It has options for running and queuing jobs and for running a synchronisation from the command line. It also allows a 'compare' to be run to list all the actions it would take during a synchronisation.
